- Afflictions: if we’re not careful afflictions (sickness and disease, pain and discomfort, a marriage that didn’t work, the loss of a job, death of a loved one) can cause you and I to take our eyes off of the Lord. Remedy for afflictions: Note that many are the afflictions of the righteous but God has delivered us of them all. Whatever you have, will or going to go through GOD promised to deliver you from it all. Trust In his deliverance.
- Cares of this world: when we choose to focus on things of this world (how will I pay the bills, how am I going to take care of my family, these things and more are cares of this world) see as we become engulfed with our needs and wants we once again become distracted taking our eyes off the Lord and looking at our situations. When GOD has said in his word for us to Cast our cares on him for he cares for us. As you and I embrace how much the Lord cares for us we want have to worry any longer, we will trust in the very source of all our provision.
- Deceitfulness of riches: Yet another culprit causing us to be distracted. Once we become engulfed with all of our material desires and how fulfilling our life will become once we have all we want. We are deceived. The only way we can walk in total fulfillment is when you and I choose to walk into fulfilling our GOD given assignment for our lives. That is the true fulfillment.
- Lack of understanding: This is the biggest one for me. As soon as the word is shared and the person to whom it was shared doesn’t understand the message then satan snatches it away.
Though we may have not noticed we have giving him the legal right to steal from us. How? Simply because we didn’t seek understanding of that we heard. See once we hear in our hearts a word from the LORD, GOD desires for you and I to seek understanding. (ex: how do I apply this to my life, what do I do with this information, what did the Father intend for me to get from this message, ask as many questions as you can so that you get understanding).
